| Anaktuvuk Pass PAKP in Alaska |

Anaktuvuk Pass is a village located 85 miles north of Bettles and just north of the Brooks Range, in a valley that is a route between north and south. The inhabitants are mainly Numamiut, a section of the Inupiat that existed in history (and until today) away from the coastal food supply of fish etc. The current population is around 350. The airport has one gravel runway, aligned 1-19 with PAPI at both ends, and 5,500 feet long as there is no connection to the outside world other than the runway for all necessities that are not available on the tundra. There are two aprons, with light planes and passengers at the northern end of the runway and the Everts cargo flights unloading at the mid runway apron. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

| Anaktuvuk PAKP Runway and Taxiway Lighting in Alaska |

Anaktuvuk is in Alaska, and this posting adds proper runway and taxiway lighting to the scenery, as shown in the screenshots. There will be runway and taxiway lights visible during the day and at night there will be lit lights that properly illuminate the runway for landing, and at a lower level of brightness the taxiways. Put the bgl's into the existing scenery folder of your previous Anaktuvuk PAKP installation and say yes to replace the existing bgl's that have the same names. Instal the Library objects once and for all by placing the CONTENTS of the Lighting Library scenery folder in your static objects scenery folder and the CONTENTS of the texture folder in the static objects texture folder (which is how I install scenery objects libraries). Alternatively, put them in the scenery and texture folders of your Add on scenery folder, or even in the main scenery and texture folders. They just have to be in related scenery and texture folders that are always active when FS9 is running. If you do all this and there are no textures to the lights then put the library textures into the Anaktuvuk texture folder too; FS9 has done some strange things while I was making scenery so I would never rule out a possibility.
There will be further retro upgrades to other recent scenery that was posted with temporary lighting. Say thank you to Greg Putz for making the lighting.

Galena is a village on the Yukon River, around 30 miles east of the corner where the westward running river turns south. The population is just under 500 and the city is noted for its educational facilities that attract residential students from across the state. Adjacent to the city is the Galena Air Force Station that previously shared the use of the Edward G. Pitna Snr. airport until 2007, when the station was closed and the air force personnel left. The station facilities have been taken over by the community and the airport became the largest state-maintained airport in the interior of Alaska. Substantial resurfacing and finishing work was then carried out, and the new asphalt runway is now 6,000 feet long and aligned 7-25, with VASI at both ends and ILS on 25. There is a secondary gravel runway beside part of the main asphalt runway, and this is treated in radio announcements as if it is not a separate runway and landing or take off are on the adjacent asphalt. The airport is serviced by ERA (now called Ravn) and Wrights Air, with cargo flights by the eternal Everts. Included here is a small modification for Allakaket, which deletes a single remaining stock FS9 taxiway light. The AI included here also provided Allakaket with a Saturday Everts delivery flight, but I neglected to mention that before. A note here about my scenery making. Galena is in Alaska, and this posting adds proper runway lighting to the gravel runway that is used in the winter by light planes on skis, and because of that is not cleared of snow; unfortunately a gravel surface that gets snow covered in winter cannot be replicated in FS9. There are also taxiway lights visible during the day and at night there will be lit taxiway lights. I did not attempt to replicate the complicated main runway lighting which is well covered anyway by FS9. First of all, download and install the Library Objects once and for all from either the Allakaket Lights or Anaktuvuk Lights postings earlier this week. Then put these new bgl's into the existing scenery folder of your previous Galena PAGA installation and say yes to replace the existing bgl's that have the same names. Add the texture folder contents to the existing texture folder as they are required for the red warning lights at the ends of the gravel runway. There will be further retro upgrades to other recent scenery that was posted with temporary lighting. Say thank you to Greg Putz for making the lighting.
