Tupolev Tu-95 Bear (Part 3). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this cold warrior of military history, which still soldiers on as a formidable strategic bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. The mighty Bear, with around 500 built, evolved from the Tu-114 airliner, and is arguably the fastest (and loudest) turboprop aircraft in history. A simple no-frills turboprop design combined with a heavy payload and ridiculous airborne endurance (20+ hours); and the Bear has established itself as the iconic Soviet/Russian symbol of strategic force projection, easily the counterpart to the American B-52 Stratofortress. An original 9-LOD model brings this historic beast to the flightsim world. This package contains the late "M" series Bears, to include Tu-95MS-6 and Tu-95MS-16; with a total of 3 models and 34 repaints. Tupolev Tu-142 Bear. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this cold warrior of military history, which still soldiers on as a capable maritime reconnaissance aircraft. The mighty Bear-Foxtrot, with around 100 built, evolved from the Tu-95 Bear bomber, and is arguably the fastest (and loudest) turboprop aircraft in history. Sukhoi Su-24 Fencer (Part 1). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this cold warrior of military jet history, which still soldiers on as a formidable strike aircraft. The Su-24, nicknamed "Chemodahn" (Suitcase) by its pilots, went into production in 1975, with around 1,400 built. The Fencer has evolved into a potent low-level deep-interdiction strike aircraft in the same role as the F-111 and the Tornado. The aircraft has served or continues to serve the air forces of a dozen countries. An original 9-LOD model brings this capable aircraft to the flightsim world. This package represents the Su-24 early-production models (A/B/C), some of which still are in service; with a total of 30 models and 118 repaints. Convair F-102A Delta Dagger. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for the second of the Century Series fighter aircraft, one of the backbones of Air Defense Command and Air National Guard squadrons from the mid-1950s to mid-1970s. The "Deuce" first flew in 1953, and 1,000 of these aircraft served as strategic interceptors during the height of the Cold War. Late examples served until 1979, over twenty years after its introduction; and many were expended as target drones on live fire ranges. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world.
This package is a complete representation of the F-102 through its entire career, in the service of the USAF as well as NASA, and the Hellenic and Turkish Air Forces. Models included are F-102A/TF-102A with both Case X and Case XX wings, and the PQM-102 manned and un-manned drones, with a total of 10 models and 164 repaints, to include over 70 individual squadron schemes. Convair F-106 Delta Dart. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for the last of the Century Series fighter aircraft, one of the backbones of Air Defense Command and Air National Guard squadrons from the late-1950s to late-1980s. The "Six" first flew in 1956, and over 300 of these aircraft served as strategic interceptors during the height of the Cold War. Late examples served until 1988, over thirty years after its introduction; and many were expended as target drones on live fire ranges. Additionally, the Six, in a last hurrah of sorts, was the dedicated chase aircraft for the B-1 bomber test flights, because of its speed, and low-cost as a "has-been" aircraft. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world.
This package is a complete representation of the F-106 through its entire career, in the service of the USAF as well as NASA. Models included are F-106A with early/late canopy, F-106B, and QF-106A/B manned and un-manned drones, with a total of 13 models and 70 repaints, to include over 30 individual squadron schemes. Fouga CM-170 Magister. The little Fouga Magister was one of the main primary jet trainer aircraft in Europe in the late 1950s through the 1980s. Over 1,000 were produced, mostly for European countries, but the aircraft were also heavily exported to Africa, Asia, and Central/South America. The Magister saw extensive combat service as a close support aircraft, and is credited with at least one aerial victory (over a DC-3). An 8-LOD model brings this small-but-mighty workhorse to the AI traffic world. This package is the CM-170 in both armed and unarmed variants; with eight models and 60 repaints covering 19 of the 24 known users. Some missing countries simply do not have either serial information or photographs; or in the case of Biafra, the aircraft were destroyed on the ground in combat before they were put in service. The Magister was used for several aerial demonstration teams, but this package concentrates on the operational use of the aircraft; and to that end I include a layered Photoshop template for the truly mad and talented out there (you know who you are). Republic F-105 Thunderchief. This is another Jake Burrus aircraft I have been able to bring to the flightsim world. Originally introduced in 1958 as a low-level nuclear weapons delivery aircraft in the middle of the Cold War, this aircraft became the backbone of conventional bombing during most of the Vietnam War. As a testament to the aircraft's role, the bravery of its pilots, and the ferocity of the North Vietnamese air defense network, nearly half of the 833 airframes were lost in combat operations. Due to the extensive combat use of the Thud, it had a relatively short service life, with limited use after Vietnam, until the aircraft's final retirement in 1984.
This is part 1 of 2 parts, and represents the use of the F-105B/D/F from 1958-1966; to include 16 model variants and 131 repaints; but includes all of the F-105B units including those used post-Vietnam by ANG and AFRES units. Republic F-105 Thunderchief (Part 2). This is another Jake Burrus aircraft I have been able to bring to the flightsim world. McDonnell F-101 Voodoo, also known as the One-Oh-Wonder. I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this cold warrior of military jet history. Going into production in 1954, 807 aircraft served thirty years in the USAF and the air forces of Canada and Taiwan. The F-101 was originally designed as a long-range escort fighter (with all-cannon armament); but evolved into an air defence interceptor and very capable recon aircraft which served extensively in Vietnam. An original 7-LOD model brings this historic aircraft to the flightsim world. This package represents the F-101 in the span of its entire career with the USAF, RCAF/CAF, and ROCAF; with a total of 20 models and 69 repaints. Boeing B-52 Stratofortress Service Pack 3a. This is the last planned service pack for my JMAI B-52 AI traffic model set, and is released in three parts. This service pack optimizes the #1 texture for all JMAI B-52s released to date on AVSIM. The reason for this update was a batch conversion error in my macro, which I did not figure out until while doing my Tu-95 series models, and I included a more detailed explanation in the documentation. There are three parts to this update, which address the 564 retro B-52 paints I released to AVSIM in 12 parts. A list of updated files is also included in the documentation.
