New 300-m (LOD7) Terrain Mesh of British Columbia and Southeast Alaska #3 Download

File Description:
Mid-resolution (300-m) terrain mesh for the entire province of British Columbia (950,000 square km) and the Alaska panhandle southeast of N60 W139. Made from 250m-resolution source data without oversampling. Easy on frame rates and hard drive space. It transforms the rounded mountains of the default terrain mesh into a much more realistic representation of the diverse topography of this beautiful corner of the world. Experience the spectacular scenery between Vancouver and Atlin, Juneau and Fort St. John, and Mount Robson to Clayoquot Sound. Fourteen independent mesh tiles allow you to select the region(s) you like best. Several high-resolution add-on meshes will be uploaded separately. By Holger Sandmann. Part 3 of 4: All areas between 51 and 54 degrees North.

Battle of the Airlines 2003 : Mission Moon Download

File Description:
What a race... when The Battle of the Airlines Trophy organization announced the upcoming race "Mission Moon" back in December 2002 the community of flightsimmers was astonished.... going to the Moon with MS FlightSimulator was just not possible.... or was it? After a frantic race made up of 8 stages it became clear: it was possible. Starting in February 2003, for two months the 1500 pilots had to find their way that took them from the far north to the far south on the American continents. Not only did they have to fight their competitors but also short runways, failing aircraft, suicidal flightplans and most of all: RaceRunner Ray. But the reward was worth the hardship when they entered space and made it to the Moon and back! Requires files: bota03mf.zip, bota03sf.zip.

In other words, if your computer plays ATC correctly when flying Mission Moon you don't need this file.

Grafton District Airport - NSW Australia Download

File Description:
Grafton District Airport (YGFN) - (For 2002 only)

*******************************

A delighful small airport approximately 80 nautical miles from Coffs Harbour and a slightly shorter distance to Ballina and Lismore. This makes a good stopover for hopping down the east coast of Australia.

Originally released for FS2004 (and is better in 2004) but adds realism to FS2002 default airport.

The size of the airport has allowed me to put in that extra detail which makes to terminal and surrounds very much "as in real life". Photographic textures are used throughout for the buildings and even the trees are hand made macros from photographs at the airport.

AFCAD file is included to add AI traffic. For that reason and because of limited apron space no static planes have been used. You should obtain Traffic Tools to add more AI traffic to give the airport a little more life.

The scenery concentrates on adding a realistic terminal to the airport whilst leaving much of the default runway detail unchanged.

Palisades SRTM Altitude Mesh Download

File Description:
Ever wanted to fly down the VFR corridor over the Hudson River and gawk at all the skyscrapers in New York City? ... in your dreams! The Department of Fatherland Security has closed it down.

But, we still have Flight Simulator. Unfortunately, the altitude mesh for this area is somewhat lacking in detail.

This Palisades altitude mesh remedies that. Covers the Palisades cliffs, of course (but no Amusement Park, sniff), and also Riverside, Morningside, and Washington Heights, and Fort Tryon. In fact, all 5 Boroughs of New York City are covered, as well as most of central and northern New Jersey (visit beautiful downtown Hoboken!), and the larger part of Long Island. Also Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Putnam counties and more. And even Bear Mountain State Park.

Approximate coverage: N40* to N42* and W73* to W75*.

Made from NASA Shuttle Radar Topography Mission data (3 arc-second resampled to LOD9 - horizontal resolution of 76.4 meters) using SRTM to BGL by Matthew Styles (available in the AvSim library.) Very easy to use - give it a try.

BONUS: includes simple instructions so that anyone can make altitude mesh for their area from SRTM data using SRTM to BGL by Matthew Styles. Sorry, SRTM data only available for the Americas at the moment. The rest of the world coming soon. Check inside for more details.

No support of any kind is offered for this package - very sorry.
