This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas C-117D by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-117D RP-C473 of Soriano Air Cargo of the Philippines, around 1991 (Ex-USAAF 42-23894, c/n 43327, USN BuNo 12443, Aero Union N5597T and Intercoastal Air Ways N873SN), It was later sold to Mabuhay Airlines, also in the Philippines. On 30 august 1999, it was to be flown to Manila for a lease to Crown Cargo Express when it struck power lines. The aircraft crashed into a rice field. Luckily none of the 9 people on board were injured, but the aircraft was a write-off. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the metal textures by Gman5250 and the blank textures by Manfred Jahn.

| Douglas C-47 (N65276) Frontier Airlines |

This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of Frontier Airlines N65276, one of the C-47/DC-3's operated by Frontier Airlines. On April 21, 1957, at 1321 hours, N65276, operating as Frontier Airlines flight 7 departed Prescott, Arizona enroute to Phoenix under visual flight rules (VFR) with 21 passengers and one stewardess. As the flight proceeded southbound toward Phoenix the weather deteriorated to a point where the flight could no longer remain clear of clouds and maintain VFR. Captain Welling requested and received an instrument flight rules (IFR) clearance to proceed to Phoenix via Knob intersection thence to the Phoenix omni range, maintain 7000 feet. The crew never acknowledged receiving the clearance. It is suspected that the reason there was no response is that this was the precise moment that flight 7 struck the west ridge of a mountain at the 4500’ level southeast of Prescott shearing off twelve feet of the left wing and six feet of the left aileron. After declaring an emergency, flight 7 landed safely at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport without further incident. There was no injury to the passengers or crew. The wing was replaced and the aircraft continued flying for Frontier. Sadly, N65276 was lost in a tragic accident in 1967 on a snowy Denver day when a rudder-lock had been placed on an elevator and not removed prior to take-off. Both pilots were killed in the crash. This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of PH-PBA. It was built as c/n 19434 and went to the 8th Air Force as 42-100971. She served among other during Operation Market Garden. After the war, she was obtained by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and registered as PH-PBA in 1946. In 1947, the Rijksluchtvaartdienst (RLD, Civil Aviation Authoroties) took her on charge, and from then on she served as the first Dutch Government aircraft, used mainly to fly the Dutch Royal family, often with Prince Bernhard as pilot. In 1961 she was replaced by a Fokker F-27, but continued to be used by the RLD, in the paintscheme presented here. In 1975, she was transferred to the Aviodome museum at Schiphol airport, where she stood outside for 20 years. Prince Bernhard always lobbied for a return to airworthiness for PH-PBA, and in 1995 she reappeared on the Dutch register. She is currently flying with the Dutch Dakota Association, in a combined KLM - Air France paintscheme. This folder contains a repaint for the A2A North American T-6 Texan/Harvard in the colors of Harvard Mk.4 C-FWPK of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association. Originally manufactured by the Canadian Car and Foundry, Fort William, Ontario, it entered Service with the RCAF on February 29, 1952. It was disposed of on July 30, 1967, and while with the RCAF, it served with 2 FTS Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and No. 4 FTS Penhold, Alberta. Originally disposed of for $1,850, WPK spent several years flying out of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Jim Vernon of Oakville purchased WPK in the early 1970’s and was later flown as the #2 position in a 4-plane Goldilocks Formation for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. In 1978, it was bought by Norm & Kent Beckham and Bob Hewitt, and based out of Woodstock. WPK was purchased by CHAA in 1989. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.
