Lukla? No!!!! .............its Ku-Kle!!!!!!

File Description:
This is a fictional scenery of an airport in Nepal, KU-KLE (VNZ5). This field makes --Lukla-- seem like "baby food" and is part of a comming Adventure Flight. Warning no.1= Do not try to take off and land here without a very good insurance package. Warning No.2= You better be a very good STOL pilot. Most pilots trying a landing here in the evening usually receive the R.I.P. Certificate Free.

Lukla Helicopter Service Eurocopter EC120 (Nemeth Designs)

File Description:
If you have the excellent Nemeth EC 120 (free or pay) and you have that equally excellent Aerosoft scenery addon "Lukla", then you might want this texture depicting a fictional paint for a light utility / liaison helicopter for searching for downed helis, lost climbers or even yeti hunting. This skin is targeted for the EC120 police model in the payware kit. It should work on other variants, but you will not see the big searchlight or the FLIR. Enjoy - but it isn't perfect. Ideally I still need to touch up the upper door sills - so don't look too close :)

Nepal 1 Flight Plan

File Description:
It has been a few years since my last visit to Nepal/Himalaya, amazing place - amazing airfields. Hoping to give you a small taste of the real adventure of flying there I created This FP which contains the following six short routes east of Kathmandu: Kathmandu - Lukla - Rumjatar - Lamidada - Bhojpur - Tumlingtar - Kathmandu.The runways (except Kathmandu) are all grass/dust, although i think that Lukla gots an asphalt one by now.I have used A Beechcraft King Air 350 plane, weather clear, 12.00' local time, visibility 48Km/30 mi. If you want to try it hard (i am sure you do so after a while) change the weather conditions to storm/heavy storm. Included -in friendly printable version- six images as well (one for each flight) which contains a map view and a Navigation log as layedout at fs, so that you can have the hands on the stik all time and enjoy the flights without a stop.

Skyline Airways de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter

File Description:
This is a repaint of the excellent de Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter AI Model V.2 by Henry Tomkiewicz. Skyline Airways was an airline based in Kathmandu in Nepal. It provided scheduled services to rural destinations in Nepal and charter flights. The airline was established in 1998 and started operations on 15 July 1999. Destinations included Lukla, Phaplu, Pokhara, Jomsom, Bharatpur, Rumjatar and Simara. The Skyline Airways fleet consisted of 2 De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otters, both of which sadly crashed.

A Normal Day Over Nepal...or " Hope the God Buzzard don´t get you" !!!!!!

File Description:
Captain Jackson Kungfu-Larz has been flying the Lukla route for around 21 years. Flying tourists and mountain climbers to this little mountain town is just one of those things. Today he and his co-pilot, you, will abbandon the regular route and take a "supply" plane from Lukla to Tumlingtar where you´ll will pick up spare parts for a Polish Motorcicle group out in a mountain road, then you fly to Gutaba where you will transfer to a Helicopter to carry these, food and purified water to some arqueologists out in some old Temples and other stuffs for a group of tourists out in a very old Buddist Monastery spending the weekend. You will return after delivery of all this to Gutaba and fly two Engineers to Ku-Kle where the trip ends, either in the tarmac or against the mountain ....So get to speed with the old Twin Otter or similiar aircraft and be prepared to pray several times to the Lord Budda for this "trip" is a "rock breaker". (Shalam sum quan Pin, lip sum turog) Translation: When the buzzard squaks so loud is because his feathers feel the moon......PD. Nepalese old saying which no one knows what it means.

Mount Everest Expedition

File Description:
Two flightplans for an expedition to Mount Everest (8852 m). The first flightplan takes you from Lukla (VNLK) airfield at 10000 ft to Mount Everest Climb North: Base Camp. A distance of about 40 km. The recommended inbuilt aircraft for this trip is the "Maule Orion on skis". Be aware that you must climb to about 15000 ft before entering the GPS-path. Also, you should try to land across the slope. Otherwise it could be difficult to stop the aircraft from skiing down the inclined ground! The second flightplan takes you from Base Camp to Yak Camp* (at about 19000 ft MSL) sitting at a bend of the East Rongbuk Glacier. This is the first camp on the North Route. You should use a helicopter able to climb to about 20000 ft for this route. For example, the inbuilt Bell 206B JetRanger. Though, it will indeed be a challenge with this aircraft! *= It is called the Yak Camp because it is the point at which the yak herders overnight their yaks on the route up to Advance Base Camp (ABC) at 21300 ft.
