Two-seat reconnaissance, light bomber and transport aircraft. First flown at September 19, 1928. More than 6000 R-5 of all modifications were built. R-5 become the multipurpose workhorse for aviation, and fulfilled functions as a combat aircraft, a transport and a passenger aircraft as well.
