Nick's Jet Smoke Missing Files

File Description:
Apparently a mix up occurred in packaging the final version of my smoke effects. The Boeing 777 scale smoke effect file was a .lnk file instead of the effects file itself. The smoke file include in this download is the B777 scaled file that was missing.

Nick's Jet Smoke UPDATE

File Description:
The smoke files in this update are an option to the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects. Given the overwhelming positive response to the original effects and requests for better visibility of the thrust, the files included have been enhanced around the exhaust port area to highlight the initial heat and thrust being expelled from the engine while in flight. You must have the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects package in order for the included smoke effects to be throttle controlled. This update includes some known issue fixes and a corrected B747-400 aircraft configuration file. The files included will directly replace the original effects without any additions or configuration file editing.

Nick's LightFix

File Description:
The concept and the base textures for this package are from Mark Poole and his original light replacement releases. Mark's original Nav Light package has a really good concept and uses light textures which create sharp lens flairs or bursts. I found the lens flair in his packages to be a bit too large and out of scale for my display and taste. Also, I wanted to have an easy way to replace all the FS9 lights in one shot with little or no configuration file editing. With that in mind, this package was created. This release will automatically replace ALL the Flight Simulator aircraft and airport lights with more realistic ones along with better distance visuals of slower flashing radio tower/smoke stack and ground beacons. It also includes replacement lights in scale for the PMDG 737, 747 and for all Project Opensky aircraft offered on their site. It works automatically with Ultimate Traffic and other AI add-ons which use the default Microsoft aircraft lights. I added a diffused halo effect to Mark's original airport_lighting_v2 texture which gives a more realistic look in cloudy or weather conditions and enhances the dynamic directional brightness of the lights. In addition to the navigation lights, I have also created aircraft beacons and strobes which will also install automatically . Reno P-51 Mustang Effects

File Description:
Effects for GMAX P-51 D "Reno" Mustang. (Original design: Roger L. Dial. Flight Dynamics © Steve Small FSD. Sounds © Mike Hambly 6/2002.) As flown in FS2004. Effects include Air- Show style colored smoke ("I") key. New start-up smoke, individual exhaust-stack flames in four phases: orange start-up, soft blue @ idle, more flame @ cruise, even more @ max power. Flame size and brightness controlled by XML gauge using throttle position. Also wingtip vortex controlled by XML gauge using "G" force. Runway tire marks w/ optional "chirp" sound. Installation is manual but easy.

Severe Engine Fire Effects for FS2004

File Description:
These effects files (activated by the smoke system) allow you to visually simulate a severe engine fire on the eighteen default aircraft, as well as six non-default, freeware add-on aircraft including Milton Shupe's Beechcraft D-18s and Howard 500, Edward Cook's Vickers Wellington, Bob Chicilo's A6M2 Zero and TBF-1 Avenger (default CFS2 aircraft updated for use in FS9), and Gary Herbert's B-17G "Lazy Lucy". Smoke Colors

File Description:
The files in this archive are "repaints" of the default FS9 Smoke Effect. I had a similar package from FS2k2, but the effects did not quite work properly in FS9. Since I couldn't find what I wanted on any of the major d/l sites, I decided to do it myself! Check the readme - there's a little surprise tucked in there! ;)

Smoke Jumpers FX

File Description:
Now you can shuttle smoke-jumpers to that hard-to-get-to forest fire. These FX files allow you to drop a number of orange-clad firefighters from the DC-3, JU-52, or DeHaviland Otter. Editing the included text insert (door location) for the aircraft.cfg file will allow them to jump from any other plane of your choosing as well. I no longer have FS2002 so was unable to test this with that FS version. I wish to thank Mr. Pierino Primavesi for his kind permission in allowing me to modify the FX files he made for his Luftwaffe version of the JU-52.
