File Description: This is a repaint of the Douglas C-133B Cargomaster in the USAF MATS scheme. The freeware Douglas C-133 Cargomaster by Tim Conrad is needed for this repaint - link provided. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX & FS2004. Textures for FS2004 users are included. Textures are 32bit DDS & DXT3 BMP. 59-0534 was assigned to the 1501st Air Transport Wing. It was destroyed on 30 Apr 1967, when it was ditched 34 miles from Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan after takeoff due to engine failure. The propellers became stuck in fixed pitch due to electrical problems in either propeller control or propeller power circuits. The crew of 9 survived, but one was seriously injured.

File Description: Wheelus AB was a USAF base located in Tripoli Libya until it was closed in 1970. Wheelus served many purposes: as a MATS station; as a Reflex base hosting various bombers for short rotations at different times; and as a gunnery and bombing training facility supporting many United States Air Forces in Europe squadrons which flew in for month long training sessions to practice live gunnery and bomb training exercises at the nearby El-Uotia Gunnery Range. This is also included in the scenery. Separate traffic is provided for 1955, 1957, 1959 and 1962, each schedule reflecting a mix of visiting squadrons and aircraft types. It can get to be a pretty colorful place if you install all those provided for.

File Description: Kindley Field, on the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, was built as a joint RAF/USAAF facility during the Second World War. Subsequently the RAF area became the civilian terminal while Kindley Air Force Base was operated by the USAF between 1948 and 1970. It was primarily a staging post between the US and Western Europe for land-based planes unable to cross the Atlantic non-stop, very like Ernest Harmon in Newfoundland and the civilian Gander, and like Harmon it closed when the jet age made such bases redundant. Prior to that it hosted no combat units, but the 59th and then 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadrons, the 'Hurricane Hunters', were based there, and also from 1 February 1956 to 15 June 1963 the 303rd ARS Stratotankers were present to support Strategic Air Command and other refueling requirements. After 1970 it became a US Navy facility primarily concerned with tracking Soviet submarines, and was closed at the end of the Cold War. This scenery represents Kindley between 1955 and 1962 and has custom made scenery by Dan French and ai military traffic by Al Von Pingel to add to the downloadable California Classic civilian and MATS traffic available at Tom Gibson's site. Like Harmon and Gander, it was one of the most important airfields of its time.

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Lockheed L049 Constellation in the colors of C-121A 48-609 of MATS. It was delivered to the USAF in 1948 and flew in support of the Berlin Airlift. It was then used as a VIP transport until 1968, when is sold and converted to an agricultural sprayer. It was bought by John Travolta in 1984, who sold it to Vern Raburn in 1987. He restored it and flew it as the MATS Connie for a few years. In 2005 it was donated to Korean Air and flown to Korea, where it is still on display. Two engines were used to restore the Constellation currently in the Aviodrome in the Netherlands. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Lockheed L049 Constellation in the colors of 48-612 of the MATS. It was delivered to the USAF in 1949 and flew in support of the Berlin Airlift. This repaint shows it in the colors of the Atlantic Division of MATS around that time. It was converted to a C-121A and used for VIP missions for the remainder of its air force career, which lasted until 1967. It was then used as an agricultural spray aircraft, until it was bought by the Dutch Constellation Association. It went to the Aviodrome museum in Lelystad, the Netherlands in 2001, and was restored. It flew last in 2007, but insurance problems kept it grounded since. It is currently on static display in the Aviodrome, wearing KLM colors. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

File Description: Dimensionally identical to the first-generation Constellation (L-049), the
post-war 749 had more powerful engines, additional fuel tanks, strengthened
landing gear, and much improved performance. Equally good for shuttle hops
and long-range flights, L-749 Connies entered service with major 1950s
carriers such as Eastern, TWA, B.O.A.C., Air France, KLM, Quantas, and many
others. Another customer was the Air Force, which placed an order for ten
aircraft (designated C-121A) in 1948.
Included in this sim package are seven
models and five textures, covering variants with and without "Speedpak"
cargo pannier, weather radar, and "jetstack" exhausts. KLM texture by Jaap
de Baare (representing "Flevoland", the last 749 in flying condition today).
TWA texture N6003C "Star of America" by Hans Herrmann. EAL, Air France, and
MATS textures by Manfred Jahn (including "8609", a frequent visitor to
airshows all over the world until 2005). Panel textures and additional
gauges by Diego S. Barreto, model and VC by Manfred Jahn, panels, gauges,
and animations by Hansjoerg Naegele, flight dynamics by Luis Pallas,
wingview angles, lights, and exhaust effects by Bill Tyne and Roland Berger,
checklist and documentation by Volker Boehme, flight test and handling
research by Stefan Werner. The 749 project has been hosted by Tom Gibson's
Calclassic forum at http://calclassic.proboards55.com.

File Description: New version of previous MATS (Military Air Transport Service) Lockheed C-121A model by the same author (lockheed_c121a.zip, 2007). It is not necessary to remove previous plane, this will be placed as a new Aircraft model.
Highly improved Virtual Cockpit with 45 levers and switches, more than 100 other gauges, main and Flight Engineer commands etc, all working. This complexity has certain impact on rather sluggish instrument needles, but I hope it could be compensated by other flying qualities. For FS9 (FS2004), but can be used in FSX with some restrictions (FSX Note included). Lockheed C-121 with the "A" prefix was the military version of the L-749 model. The US Air Force ordered ten C-121As in 1948 but only nine were built.
