XFCS 1.5 (Fly By Wire-plugin)
|
|
File Description: XFCS simulates fly-by-wire control of combat aircraft. See readme.pdf for indepth description.
News in version 1.5
- XFCS now works with X-Plane's autopilot. All autopilot commands are exectuted by the FCS control laws, resulting in excellent autopilot accuracy and seemless integration.
- Improved pitch response in AoA-demand mode.
- AoA-demand mode blends AoA and speed data, making it easier to control speed and glideslope with power adjustments.
- AoA-feedback in G-demand mode: Flying above 15 degrees angle of attack requires light stick backpressure. Many real control systems work this way.
- Inverted flight now requires slight forward stick pressure. A lot of pilots feel more at home with this behaviour and many real FCSs have it.
- Mach bucket is now simulated. This is a common way to handle transsonic pitch buffeting. Max load factor is decreased by 2 Gs in the Mach .95 - 1.1 range.
- XFCS should now run faster on low end computers, having less effect on frame rate.
- Transition from ground mode to flight mode now follows pitch attitude instead of airspeed. This works better for most designs.
