File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the P_47D-25 Bubbletop by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of P-47D-25-RE 42-26534 QI-M as piloted by James Thorne of the 361st FS, 356th FG in July 1944 from Martlesham Heath. The aircraft was shot down by flak near Groesbeek in the Netherlands on 18 September 1944 as QI-M, with the pilot, Capt Reginald McDowell evading capture and returning to his squadron. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the Aeroplane Heaven paintkit.

Republic P-47D-25 405th FG (2Z-T) "Tallahassee Lassie"

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the P_47D-25 Bubbletop by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of P-47D-30-RA 44-33133 2Z-T "Tallahassee Lassie" as flown by Major Ralph Jenkins of the 510th FS, 405th FG. A Seatlle native, he named his aircraft after his wife, who was from Tallahassee. P-47D-40 45-49406 is currently painted in these colors and flying with the Flying Heritage Collection as N7159Z. I've applied this registration as well. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

Fairchild C-119 (53-7884) USAF

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of Fairchild C-119 53-7884 of the 12th TCS, USAF. 53-7884 was the last C-119 off the production line at Kaiser-Frazer in Willow Run, MI. It was converted to C-119L and spent some time in Ethiopia, before coming back to the US. It went to civilian owners, first as N8512K and later as N37483. It was reported crashed during a smuggling run in Mexico in 1981. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

Republic P-47D-25 86th FG (11) "Miss Tennessee / Stump Lifter"

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the P_47D-25 Bubbletop by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of P-47D-25-RA 42-8601 #11 "Stump Lifter", as flown by Lt Benny Flake of the 525th FS, 86th FG. The painting on the left hand side was of a moviestar, Marilyn Maxwell, with the name "Miss Tennessee". The name 'Stump Lifter' on the right side stems from that fact that one of Lt Flakes friends, Lt. Riley Stewart said that his bombs never hit their target and that all he ever saw during sorties with Lt Flake were large tree stumps flying through the air. Lt. Stewart paid the squadron's artist to put the "stump lifter" art on Lt Flake's cowling without his permission, but he came to like it over time. Republic P-47D-25 324th FG (83) "Wee Three"

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the P_47D-25 Bubbletop by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of P-47D-30 44-19726 #83 "Wee Three" of the 316th FS, 324th FG, 9th AF. The name came from its first pilot, who was married and had a small child, hence the "Wee Three". After he finished his tour, the aircraft was re-assigned to Lt John Jasper Yowell jr. On 19 march 1945, while on his 65th mission, to Pforzheim, the squadron was ambushed by a flight of Me-109's. His wingman, John Haun, shot down one Me-109, but Lt Yowell was hit by enemy fire and forced to bail out. Unfortunately, his parachute didn't open. He was found and buried in his parachute by French labourers. After the war, he was reinterred at Arlington National Cemetery. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

Heinkel He-111 Sonderkommando Blaich

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Heinkel He-111 P2 by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of the He 111-H6 of Sonderkommando Blaich, 1942. The Sonderkommando Blaich (English: Special detail Blaich) was a German special unit consisting of one Heinkel He 111 medium bomber that raided Free French–controlled Fort Lamy (present day N'Djamena) in the Chad region of French Equatorial Africa in January 1942. The raid against a target located 1,250 mi (2,010 km) from the German-Italian bases in North Africa was a success but, on its return flight, the German plane ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing; both crew and plane were rescued a week later. Fairchild C-119 (N15501)

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of Fairchild C-119 N15501. It was built as c/n 10955 and went to the RCAF as 22130. It flew with the RCAF until 1967. In 1970, it became NX15501 and was owned by Aircraft International Associates untl 1976, when it went to Hawkins Powers Aviation in Greybull, WY as tanker #138. It was stored from 1990 until 2002, when it was made airworthy again for the film 'Flight of the Phoenix'. It flew to Namibia, for the filming in 2003, and back to Greybull in 2004. It was bought by Hans Lauridsen in 2006 at at present is in Phoenix, Arizona. It registration was cancelled in 2014. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

Hawker Typhoon MN875 RAF 181 Sqn EL-B

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Aerplane Heaven Hawker Typhoon in the colors of Typhoon MN875 EL-B of No 181 Squadron, a regular mount of Flt.Lt. Robbert 'Bergy' van Zinnicg Bergmann while 181 was based in Helmond, 1945. Van Zinnicq Bergmann was a cavalry officer at the start of the war who managed to escape to England, arriving there in 1942. He joined the RAF, flying Hurricanes, Spitfires and finally Typhoons, first with 181 and later with 182 squadron. He stated: 'for me, the Typhoon was love at first sight, of all the aircraft I had flown, this looked by far the most agressive'. His agression as a pilot earned him the DFC and a promotion to Flight Commander with 182 squadron. After the war, he became aide-de-camp to the Dutch Queen, in the end serving three queens as Lord Chamberlain. He died in 2004.. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of Fairchild C-119 N15501 wore for the film 'Flight of the Phoenix', with registration H01810-H. It was built as c/n 10955 and went to the RCAF as 22130. It flew with the RCAF until 1967. In 1970, it became NX15501 and was owned by Aircraft International Associates untl 1976, when it went to Hawkins Powers Aviation in Greybull, WY as tanker #138. Avro Lancaster (NA-S) No.44 Sqn R5508

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the AVRO Lancaster by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of Lancaster B.1 R5508 of No.44 Squadron based on Waddington, UK, as flown by Squadron Leader John Nettleton from South Africa during the low-level daylight raid on the MAN factory in Augsburg, Germany on 17 April, 1942. It involved six aircraft of 44 squadron and six of 97 squadron, that had to fly some 1000 miles over hostile terrain in daylight at low level. Only two of 44 sqn and five of 97 sqn reached the target, and two more aircraft were shot down near Augsburg by flak. Four 97 sqn aircraft returned to base under cover of darkness, but of 44 sqn, only Squadron Leader Nettletons aircraft, although heavily damaged, made it back to the UK. Nettleton received the VC for this raid, F/L Penman of 97 Sqn the DSO. 8 DFC's and 10 DFM's were awarded to other crew members. Nettleton died on 13 July 1943, returning from a raid on Turin. It is believed he was shot down near Brest by a FW190 of JG.2. His body and those of his crew were never recovered. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.
