Marostica N45.44.47 E11.39.18 is a small town in the province of Vicenza in Veneto Italy It is well-known throughout the world for the chess game that takes place with living characters in the town square, every two years (even years) in the second weekend of September. It is a tradition begun in 1923 and is inspired by an event of 1454, although there is no historical evidence.
