File Description:
F-4S 157293 (DC 11) of VMFA-122 "Crusaders" stationed at MCAS Beaufort in 1985. This aircraft is credited with shooting down a Mig-21 on June 21, 1972 while operating as an F-4J assigned to VF-31 aboard the USS Saratoga (note the star on the port splitter plate). Pilot was CDR Sam Flynn and RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) was LT. Bill John. Probably not exact, just the work of a Phormer Phantom Phixer from VMFA-321 and VMFP-3 having some Phun.
