File Description: Avianca, the Colombian airline, was founded as Scadta in 1919 by German and Colombian investors. After WW2 begun the company was force sold to Panam.
Avianca 100, Douglas DC-3-228, notes: C/n 2012, delivered to Pan Am on 15 November 1937.
Pan Am assigned this DC-3 to PANAGRA. On 7 August 1942, it was reassigned to Avianca, registered C-100.
On 24 December 1947, Pan Am sold this aircraft to a private firm. Over the years it was flown by a large number of operators including the Argentine Army. This DC-3 was withdrawn from use in August 1982 and used as a cafe, until it was finally broken up in 1999.
