File Description: Opa's Campground. A ficticious campground located on the shores of beatiful Lake Texoma on the Texas-Oklahoma border. Created with the EZ and RWY12 Object placing programs, the scenery is packed with eye candy and some unusual features including AI Helicopter rides, an AI Windsurfer and AI boats moving about the lake plus fireworks on the 4th of July. There is a landing strip at the campground for those who arrive by air and start locations for seaplanes and automobiles. Lago sound files are included for those who have the Lago FSE program (optional). The scenery is designed to be used with the default FS2004 setup - it is not compatible with Ultimate Terrain - USA. If you are seeking a great place to "get away" for some fun, this is it. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation directions.

File Description: Panel Icon for use with Airport Chart Viewer Program - with an illustrated installation guide. This package provides a panel icon for use with the fine program by Holger Maass - apchart.zip. Because it is listed in the FSX category here in the library, many may not be aware the program works well in FS2004 also. I have created this panel icon to easily invoke the Chart Viewer while flying. No programming knowledge is required. The icon can be added to vitually any panel and setups for the default Beech Baron 58 and B737-400 are included. Please unzip this package to a temporary folder and follow the instructions. File Description: Pre FS2004 Reminder. FS Rule #1 - provide maximum computer resources for your Flight Simulator environment! If you are like me, too often I forget to close unnecessary programs before starting Flight Simulator. This little addon utility, in the form of a simple batch file, will bring up a reminder screen, allowing you to close other programs and allowing you time to do so before it starts Flight Simulator. The batch file uses an old MSDOS popup utility from the early 90's (by Robin Latham) which works just fine in Windows XP. This utility may be used in conjunction with Geoffrey Schreiber's fine Splash Screen Randomizer. Tested in Windows XP home edition and FS2004 only.

File Description: Reduced Volume FPDA Altitude Callouts. This is a set of altitude callouts (400 to 10 feet) which have been re-recorded at 10 decibels less than the original callout .wav files. They are designed to be used with altitude_callout.zip which is available here at Avsim.com. These reduced volume .wavs will bring the altitude callouts more in line with other sounds you hear while flying and upon approach. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

File Description: Reducing FSX Traffic speed - an Illustrated tutorial
One of the more "interesting" enhancements which Microsoft introduced in FSX is the vehicle traffic which can be seen on the highways around larger cities and airports. However many simmers feel the speed at which these vehicles travel is considerably too fast and therefore quite unrealistic. One simmer has even commented that he cannot overtake many vehicles when flying low and slow in the default Cessna.
It is quite easy to edit the speeds of such vehicles and the process has been documented in at least one forum post. However I thought it might be useful - especially for those not accustomed to working with command line interfaces - to have a tutorial available which illustrates each step.

File Description: --Repackage of "Working Wipers" for FS2004. Original package by Guy De Smet.--
Several simmers, who were having issues attempting to install the "Working Windshield Wipers" package requested I re-do the package with clearer instructions. This re-do includes the following changes:
1. New comprehensive (hopefully easier to understand) instructions;
2. Setups for the default Cessna 172 and Boeing 737-400;
3. Conversion of the "gauge" to a .cab file;
4. Sample screenshots.
A copy of the original package is also included. Please unzip this archive to a temporary folder and follow the detailed instructions. Original gauge by Guy De Smet. Re-packaged for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.
