Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX No 485 RNZAF Squadron OU-V
File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the Spitfire Mk.IX by FlyingIron, in the colors of Spitfire IX ML407 OU-V in the colors it wore in May 1944, when it was flown by F/O Johnnie Houlton of No. 485 New Zealand Squadron. It later flew with several other squadrons before ending up with 485 Sqn again. It was converted to a T9 trainer version for the Irish Air Corps in 1950. It was sold to the Strathallan collection in 1968 and then to Nick Grace in 1979. After his death, the aircraft was flown by his wife Carolyn Grace until 2017. The aircraft is still airworthy, based at Sywell Aerodrome, and can be booked for flights. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom.
