Afterburner Effect For F-16 Viper

File Description:
FS2004 New afterburner effect for Kirk Olsson's fabulous F-16. Thanks Kirk! Controlled by invisible XML gauge with throttle and "N2" parameters. Thanks to Rob Barendregt for help with this gauge! Includes custom (longer) high-altitude contrail, custom start-up smoke puffs with several minutes of "heat" shimmer, and 2D/3D panel lamps for afterburner operation. Uses manual installation with all new filenames.

Nick's AI Jet Exhaust With Control Gauge

File Description:
Hanging around the airport watching the A-I traffic and chasing A-I jet aircraft just got a little more interesting. Enjoy watching your entire A-I jet fleet as they display engine heat shimmer effects -after- push-back from the terminal and during taxi to the active runway. All the A-I traffic take off displaying a lite, expanding, frame-rate friendly and nicely scaled high throttle heat/exhaust trail FX which remain with the A-I aircraft during its entire flight. To top off the show, the A-I aircraft that are throttled down and landing display no exhaust from the engines! This package also comes with a gauge that allows pilot throttle control of the taxi heat shimmer/full-throttle exhaust FX for the jet aircraft being flown in the sim by the user. This package does NOT interfere with the logo, taxi or wing lights of any aircraft and comes with 5 all new exhaust effects files which can be applied to just about any size private, commercial or military jet. It requires editing/adding lines in the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files. The README files include very complete and comprehensive instructions including a quick and easy copy/paste file for all the Microsoft jet aircraft and tutorial on making custom gauges from the one provided. Nick's Jet Smoke UPDATE

File Description:
The smoke files in this update are an option to the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects. Given the overwhelming positive response to the original effects and requests for better visibility of the thrust, the files included have been enhanced around the exhaust port area to highlight the initial heat and thrust being expelled from the engine while in flight. You must have the original Nick's Jet Smoke effects package in order for the included smoke effects to be throttle controlled. This update includes some known issue fixes and a corrected B747-400 aircraft configuration file. The files included will directly replace the original effects without any additions or configuration file editing.

T-38A Talon Afterburner Effects

File Description:
Afterburner effects for FSD T-38A Talon to be flown in FS2004. Revised from 2002 version, still uses "afterburner" key. This version has XML control of flaptip and wingtip vortices, and "burner" smoke with optional "whooom" sound at ignition of afterburner. New afterburner flames w/panel indicator. Runway tire marks w/ optional "chirp" sound. Custom contrail (very long). Custom jet startup effects w/ optional "heat" shimmer. Installation is manual but easy. W/aircraft.cfg info for optional speed increase (Mach 1.5). "Whooom" sound is in separate D/L, look for WHOOM_FX.zip.
