File Description: Lots of nice short fields to test your mettle in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. I've got one word for HRW pilots - BISI, BISI, BISI. Landing at BISI is such a challenge no matter what runway you choose. Who can complain about the nasty weather, impossible approaches, wonderful scenery, and low visibility plus on the last leg fighting your stick to get your bird on the ground in one piece. Once you land you will be in the United Kingdom. Welcome Europe!

File Description: With a plane full of passengers you takeoff in Europe (UK, Norway, Denmark and Sweden). There is a mix of jet aircraft to handle your hops. The worst weather yet? At least the heaviest snowstorm I can recall! I still can’t get used to landing in low visibility at unfamiliar airfields. The only newbie to this pack is the Posky Airbus 333. The last leg is all about finesse – watch your descent rate, speed and use butter smooth handling of the stick as you bring your bird back to terra firma. 257 takeoffs/landings. 41,538 behind us once you’re done.

File Description: The Airbus 310 and 320 rule this pack. Some light snow showers gets things hopping to Roros airport. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular if you can see it of course. Enjoy whatever sunlight you can since darkness rules most legs. Clear, deep dark blue skies rules before the weather goes bad. The last leg starts off with heavy, heavy rain and landing at Helsinki, Finland with zero visibility and heavy, heavy snow had me doing my first missed approach. Thanks ATIS – 1/4 mile visibility my...

File Description: Boeing’s rule this pack. Newbies are the Posky 743 and 744. With Finland behind us we make stops in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, and Uzbekistan. Landing at UT0B should keep you alert and busy. Look for large blue and white aircraft hangers at UTTT. Thunderstorms in winter? You will fly into one. Some light snow but lots of good weather.

File Description: All HRW Adventure pilots got skills! When was the last time you had to fly by the seat of your pants? Keep a sharp eye on the lookout as you navigate around the mountains and hilltops. What do you tell ATC when you can’t see the runway? Lie and hope you find it before you really got a problem. Ever seen a LearJet dance in turbulence? We make stops in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Iran. You will definitely enjoy the scenery of the 6th leg. What is a power station doing next to a huge water tank? Power up and get outta there. We are heading back north and making our way to Moscow, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany, UK, Ireland etc… in the upcoming packs.

File Description: 16,178 ft. The longest runway yet in the HRW Adventure is in Russia. Such a thrill of landing my 747-400 without braking and using up the entire runway. Decisions, decisions – What are the in-flight procedures once your ETOPS (Extended Twin Operations) jetliner loses an engine and fails to restart? Oh well, its up to you to land your bird on just one good engine in low visibility. That’s skill. Moderate rain gets this pack underway. We are getting closer to Moscow.

File Description: The only newbie in this pack is the CSI Airbus A319 (see readme). Along the way bumpy air keeps you attentive for some landings. During one leg you will see more thunderheads than ever before in the HRW Adventure. If you are lucky, you will even fly right through one thanks to ATC. We run into a mild snowstorm as we enter and leave Moscow. In this pack we surpass 300 takeoffs/landings with 52,229 miles flown.

File Description: The only newbie to this pack is the iFDG Airbus A320. Heavy fog kick things off on the first leg. Traffic will only add to the delays prior to departure as in real life. Move some cargo on the 4th leg for a well-known carrier using a DC-8 (see readme). As you hop you’ll wish FS2004 had some deicing crews to take care of you before you pushback from the gate. Is that supposed to be there in real life – the airport tower located between the runway and the taxiway? That would be a first!

File Description: The only newbie to this pack is the SGA Airbus A300. Lots of clear skies make for some good viewing. We visit Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland and Germany. Don’t linger in your King Air350 at dusk since neither runway has lights. On the last leg why did ATC assign you to land your jumbo cargo plane to a runway without lights and not the one with lights? Make sure you have your auto brakes set to max and find that runway before disaster happens or request another runway other than 6 and 24 if you can.
