Airbus Transport International (Beluga) Flightplans

File Description:
An attempt at representative flightplans for Airbus Transport International. They use five A300-600 Beluga Super Transporters to ferry aircraft parts around the various Airbus assembly plants in Europe. These plans have the five Beluga's flying a 24hr rotation taking in the following airports: Toulouse (LFBO), Hamburg (EDHI), Hawarden (EGNR), Getafe (LEGT), St Nazaire (LFRZ), Bremen (EDDW) and Naples (LIRN). This is my first attempt at flightplan writing and was inspired by the release of Rainer Mehlin's great AI Beluga.

File Description: This is a repaint of the excellent CLS Commercial Level Simulations Airbus A300-600ST Beluga model, in Airbus Transport International livery, F-GSTB. The textures are saved in 32 bit format for quality graphics. Shine effect. Contains accurate model with details such as: opening passenger and cargo doors, animated pack inlets and outflow valves, all operable control surfaces, detailed flap tracks and slat rails, hydraulics modelled on spoilers, landing gear doors and many more. Texture only, you need the CLS Commercial Level Simulations Airbus A300-600ST model basepack to install.

Airports Northern Coast Alaska (PALU, PPIZ, PAWI, AK03)

File Description:
The town of Barrow is in the far north of Alaska, and these are coastal villages or radar installations to the west of Barrow, and there will be additions. Cape Lisburne is a gravel runway right next to the coast with radar gear and accomodation buildings close by, and what was called "Top Camp" at the end of a long and steep road to the top of a nearby hill, or mountain. The runway is lit, as are most of them in this area of long dark winter nights. Barrow is 270 miles to the northeast. Point Lay PPIZ used to have a radar installation as well as a village, but the old buildings have now been removed and the gravel runway 05-23 has been lengthened to 5,000 feet to serve the village throughout the year. The population is around 270, living mostly traditionally and with an annual beluga whale hunt. Barrow is 180 miles to the northeast. Wainwright PAWI, some 80 miles southwest of Barrow and on the coast, has a population of around 570. The PAWI runway is just under 5,000 feet long and like PPIZ is aligned 05-23, lit, and with PAPI on each end. The original runway of some 2,000 feet is still visible next to the apron. Three miles to the southeast there is a third runway, at AK03, serving the Wainwright DEW station. It was decided in 2007 to close the station and to remove the buildings both there and at Point Lay because of subsidence, but everything at Wainwright was still in place in 2009 and beyond. The villages have been "sketched" as opposed to replicated exactly. The texture folder includes the missing car textures for Barrow PABR, and the AI is modified PABR to include passenger flights by Ravn and cargo flights by Northern Air Cargo, plus limited GA. There are no flattened grassed areas at these airfields; they are runways and taxiways and aprons on a bed of gravel on permafrost.

FS2004 Scenery - Homer Airport (IATA: HOM, ICAO: PAHO, FAA LID: HOM) is a state-owned public-use airport located two nautical miles (4 km) east of the central business district of Homer, a town in the Kenai Peninsula Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. Homer Airport covers an area of 1,040 acres (421 ha) at an elevation of 84 feet (26 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 3/21 with a 6,701 x 150 ft (2,042 x 46 m) asphalt pavement, and a facility for floatplanes on nearby Beluga Lake (5BL). This package consists of PAHO only. By John B. Homer PaHO in Alaska US

File Description:
Homer is a mainly GA airfield with rows of open air parking, but it also has scheduled flights, a terminal building, a long (for GA) runway of just under 6,700 feet that is 150 feet wide and aligned 03-21 with VASI on both ends and ILS on 03. So I think we can refer to it as an airport. Plus, at the time of this scenery (around 2010) there were three newly completed hangars on the north apron that I was told were for three companies, Bald Mountain Air service, Maritime Helicopters, and Pathfinder Aviation. I do not know which was for whom, but all three companies are in the helicopter and/or plane charter business. The south apron has a number of hangars and other buildings along it's length, starting at the western end with Smokey Bay Air that has an old control tower on the roof, then the Fire Station, and then Homer Air. I am not aware of who owns what after those first three, except that at the far eastern end there are several garages etc for the airport maintenance equipment. Next to the airport at that end there are a number of boat maintenance companies with boats pulled out of the water; this could not be well replicated due to the airport elevation above the sea level and a misplaced road. The nearby Beluga Lake 5BL float base is also included here, with some AI. The lake height above sea level has been adjusted to cope with too many cliffs intruding into the water; this is an annoying FS9 habit. The Homer scenery is as close to the actual airport as I could make it, while coping with inaccurate coast lines and roads, and grassed areas that could not all be modified for reasons that I will not bore you with. The Spit is a major scenery feature next to the airport, and I have added to this to provide some boats, docks, and nearby buildings etc. Small planes use the adjacent gravel taxi path instead of the runway when back-tracking to take off on runway 21. They only go as far as the path takes them and then u-turn onto the runway and take off. By the way, this airport's AI will function at its best if the prevailing wind makes 03 the runway in use. And I will eventually stop writing 03 and just call it 3, as the US, alone in the world, does not put a zero in front of 01, 02, 03, 04 etc. Just one other thing to note is that all access to the runway is from taxiways A and B; there was (in 2010) no access to the extreme western end of the runway as the taxiway there is marked as out of service pending a needed resurfacing.
