FSX Dynamic Benchmark Package

File Description:
This package provide a means of measuring the performance of FSX in a repeatable and consistent manner. The benchmark is a 5 minute long autopiloted CRJ700 flight that starts just after the aircraft has taken off from KPAE, climbed to 1500ft, and reached 250kts towards the Seattle city center, overflies KSEA then heads directly for Mount Rainier. The idea is to get a good mix of rural / suburban / cityscape, clouds, water, and AI aircraft / boats / cars. Use include assessing the impact of FSX setting changes, the impact of different hardware drivers, hardware setting changes and hardware upgrades on FSX performance. It can also be used to comparing the performance of your system to other similarly configured systems to ensure the performance you are achieving is is representative of what can be expected and to compare the performance of your system to hardware component changes or a new system that you are considering upgrading to yourself.

JAB FSX, the small FSX companion

File Description:
This small program has three parts. 1° It allows to regularly save the current FSX flight in order to open the next session at the same point where the last session finished (just like "Previous flight" in FS9). 2° It allows TRACK-IR owners to enable Track-IR only when in virtual cockpit and disable it in outside views (to use a joystick hat for example). 3° For scenery, mesh and landclass designers, it provides a great help to get coordinates with several formats (even for direct paste in XML files). Works in english or french.

FSX Autothumbnail

File Description:

File Description: This simple application will help you to create street lights effects suitable for FSX custom and default sceneries. It will transform a kml path file made by Google Earth into a bgl add-on file consisting of rows of effects like street lights "floating" a few meters over the ground. Kml2Effect can also process other effects (fire, smoke, etc.), individually or in groups or rows. When flying low over cities this will create nice illusion of the real street lighting.

FSX Logbook Recovery

File Description:
This utility can be used to try to fix an FSX logbook that doesn't get appended with new entries anymore. If it succeeds in removing a corrupt entry you can write back the logbook, but only after a backup of the original has been made. Updated version that handles entries with multiple landings better. FSX Zip Utility

File Description:
FSX Zip is a useful tool for unpacking Zip files downloaded from FS file libraries without the need for an existing 3rd-party Zip application, but the big handy feature is that it has a tree display of the Zip folder structure giving you a clear view of how the files will unpack and into which location. This folder layout display is also be useful for developers creating Zips to distribute their own work and aids in checking that no files are missing from the archive. It is "FSX aware" and can automatically detect the FSX folder location. Due to this feature it has several handy folder location presets making it quick and easy to install aircraft, scenery and other add-ons which come in Zip files that include folder path information. Many Zip files downloaded from FS libraries have a specific folder structure which the author has included and is required so all files go into their correct locations, and with this utility generally all you will need to do is: 1) Drag and Drop the Zip file onto the "Extract Zip" page, 2) Select the "Extract & Preserve Folder Structure" option, 3) Check the "Extract to Specific FSX Folder" option, 4) Select the preset folder location from the drop-down box and 5) Click the "UnZip" button. It has a small file size when zipped (around 940 KB) and can be freely distributed by freeware/commercial developers to help users install their files. The Create Zip tab also supports Zip Comments for adding any other information such as copyright notices.

QuickGOTO for FSX

File Description: Re-upload. Keeps a database of the most frequently used departure locations (gates, parkings or runways), so it will be no longer necessary to search for the airport through Flight Simulator Airport/Facilities directory and to move the aircraft to the correct departure point each time: just select the desired location from QuickGOTO and the airplane will be instantly moved there. It is recommended to disable FSX's "Show opening screen" (Options->Settings->General) in order to get the most from this add-on.

AutoStar for FSX

File Description:
AutoStar is a program that allows new features to be added to the night sky. It adds the brighter planets in the correct position for any date. Optionally it can add comets, images or user objects such as a lunar eclipse or Messier objects. The program can import the SAO star catalogue, thus allowing the number of background stars to be significantly increased.
