Douglas DC-6 ver 2.0 for FSX |
![]() |
File Description:
FSX Douglas DC-6 ver 2.0. This package includes the DC-6 in its earliest form with short nose (no weather radar) and round-tipped Curtiss Electric propellers as delivered to the first DC-6 customers in 1946-48. The later aircraft had the more well-known, square-tipped 'paddle' propellers, and this version is included as well. Most, if not all, of the early DC-6's were later modernized to this standard, and many (especially from the U.S. operators) had weather radar installed in a longer nose. This package contains most variants, including liveries for American, United, Delta, Panagra, SAS, Sabena and KLM, nine aircraft in all. The KLM repaint is by Maarten Brouwer. Model by Jens B. Kristensen. Flight dynamics based on work by FSAviator. For FSX only; FS2004 users should get DC6_V20.zip instead. By Jens B. Kristensen.

File Description:
Douglas Super DC-3. This is an upgrade from the default DC-3 in FSX to the Super DC-3. Although only a few Super DC-3s were built, many still fly today, with upgraded engines and flight controls. This upgrade will change all of your default DC-3s to Super DC-3s unless you follow the instructions provided. With this upgrade the aircraft can fly up to 23,000 feet, and cruise for more than 800 nm with a modern passenger and cargo load. The aircraft is based and configured on REAL WORLD data and includes realistic sounds (separate folder). Douglas E. Trapp, FS Flight Dynamics Engineer, 28 February 2011.

File Description:
FSX and FS2004 Curtiss-Wright AT-32 Condor. The AT-32 Condor biplane airliner of 1933 was an excellent design, but it appeared at the same time as the Boeing 247 and the Douglas DC-2, so it was quickly outmoded. American Airlines and Swissair versions included. Version 2 model updated to work with FSX as well as FS2004.

"Janet Airways" Boeing 737-600 BBJ-ER |
![]() |
Images related to this file:
File Description:
A highly classified small fleet of passenger aircraft known as "Janet" is operated for the United States Air Force to transport military and contractor employees. It mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site (most notably Area 51 (AR51) and Tonopah Test Range (TNX), from their terminal at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport (KLAS). The planes are also used to fly to/from Air Force Plant 42 (KPMD), Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (KNID), Hill Air Force Base (KHIF), and Edwards Air Force Base (KEDW). I encourage you to locate, download, and install the AFCAD files or scenery add-ons associated to these airports from any source you desire, but make sure they are designed for FSX. The fleet's "Janet" call sign, from which its de facto name comes, is said to stand for "Just Another Non-Existent Terminal", or more likely "Joint Air Network". Everything is realistic in this model, now, and most simmers know how inaccurate the original FSX 737-800 was. However, this aircraft simulates the accuracy of a 737-600 BBJ-ER, if there ever was one built. I modified everything to fit that aspect, except for the visual model. The engine characteristics are correct as well as all weight/balance and MOI. I even fixed the wheels to be accurate in base, track and pressure size. Everything I've done here is for educational purposes without any expectation of any monetary gain, and offered publicly for free. Read the Readme.txt file for installation and details. All persons involved with this and the original design are credited, unless they are unknown and have offered no credit details. FedEx McDonnell Douglas MD-11F (N604FE) |
![]() |
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The Boeing MD-11F aircraft, N604FE, named "Hollis" is based out of Memphis, TN and can fly both Domestic and International Routes. The MD-11F (53 built) are the Freight transport aircraft version and were the second variant on offer at launch in 1986, and was the last and longest (1988-2000) manufactured version. 22 MD-11F's were delivered between 1991 and 2001 to FedEx. According to Flight Aware, she flies mainly domestic routes daily. The aircraft is almost identical to the DC-10F, although BOEING modernized their model with a longer fuselage and more powerful engines, giving her a longer range and higher service ceiling. Most flights are at full payload, and those disclude the center long-range fuel tanks, and involve flights ranging between 2,000 and 4,500 nm. I've been dealing with several versions of this aircraft for many years, actually since the first offered on CompuServe for FS98 in the '90s, and through time have found many aerodynamic details that were required in order to make her fly realistically. The Internet slowly added the details I needed, and then came the testing. Needless to say, I've flown many versions, including this one, for way too many hours, and added and corrected things along the way. This version is the best I've ever done, and I've worked on her for about a year before this upload. Everything is aerodynamically correct, and the engines (and their placement) are beyond anything ever presented by anyone with anything like this previously. I even fixed the gear to be 100% authentic in placement and use. I tried to fix the lights, but the textures are from FS2004, so I did the best I could. I chose this aircraft because it is actually in service today, and because the painter did a great job in making her look authentic. She now flies in FSX just as she does in reality, but you are better advised to study this on your own, rather than take my word. Aircraft ratings by manufacturers are based on simple standards, and very conservative. FSX is a virtual “WIND TUNNEL†when realistic aerodynamics are employed, so we can see what aircraft are capable of if we do it all right. Sorry to say, no one ever builds a free aircraft for upload with the correct engine/aerodynamics employed. In fact, I don't think anyone, other than myself, has ever put that much effort into it. So, keep this in mind. What you have now is real. It is Free. Now learn from it. READ THE MD11Readme.txt document before any operation after unzipping this. Tri-Engine Sound by B.G. Hany; Textures by Bradley McCoy; Panel by Marco Spada; Real World Engine/Aerodynamics by Douglas E. Trapp, [email protected], June 2018.
