File Description:
Gambia Bird is a new airline founded by the German carrier Germania. It started services from Banjul International Airport to African ECOWAS cities with a fleet of one Airbus A319 in October 2012. This aircraft will be wet leased from FlyNext - one more will be added in future. Initial destinations will be Accra, Dakar, Conakry, Freetown, Lagos, Monrovia, Barcelona and London-Gatwick. Later the airline will operate Airbus A321s to some European cities in Spain and the United Kingdom. The airline will cater to tourists and travelers alike. Germania will retain a 90% ownership share of Gambia Bird.
