File Description:
cfs2/Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat 6 VU-5 Drone, Naha AB, Okinawa, 1958. Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhaul Model. At the start of the Korean War, these F6F's were designated "Drones." As Drones, they were used as remote-controled BOMBS (suicide bombers, without the pilots). The basis for this skin was that of an official Navy photo of the aircraft parked near the landing strip on the Air Base at Naha, in 1958.
